Robert W. Showalter, 62, of East Moline, passed away Saturday, February 20, 2010, at Trinity Pathway Hospice, Bettendorf.Bob was born September 23, 1947, in Moline, the son of Robert W. and Mary Haage Showalter. He married Mary Bowling Stafford in Rock Island November 23, 1974.
He served in the Army during the Vietnam Era from 1967 to 1969. He worked at John Deere Harvester. Bob Enjoyed camping, fishing, stock car racing, street rods and was the seated President of the Rock River Rodders.
Bob really loved going to car shows and cruise's, His favorite show was the Frog Follies, located in Evansville Indiana.
Prior to his illness, Bob really loved drinking beer with the Guys and talking about cars, racing and what ever came up in the meetings, He would always say that he really loved them puppies.
Bob had many nicknames, however his biggest nickname was "Spoon". Because he loved to stir up everything.
On a serious note Bob will be seriously missed.
